WT 394- Do You Cut Your Stored Lumber to Length?

On today’s weekend show we talking about how whether to cut lumber that is too long for your storage

Robert wrote in with this to say:

I am adding a 3rd bay to my workshop and the breezeway is reducing my lumber storage to only 9-foot lengths. I have a dozen or so 12-foot boards of maple & cherry. Is it a bad idea to cut these (and all future) boards down to 9-foot to fit. I currently keep about 2-3 hundred board feet in the shop.

I would only cut them if you know what you will make will use the lengths your left with, (watching for other suggestions)
